Maths and Computing

We have two exciting new workshops to help your children compute coding, or learn maths with passion!

Adventures in Computing with Ada Lovelace

The amazing Ada Lovelace, writer of the first computer programme, will inspire your children with her love of maths and coding. She will lead you on a lively journey through the history of computing and engage children in algorithm activities.

This hour long workshop is suitable for up to 30 children. Your class will learn about her fascinating family life and challenges Ada Lovelace faced. The session includes the history of how the computing devices we use today have changed through time.

This inspirational woman was ahead of her time and whilst her brilliant mind was recognised by Victorian society, the importance of her research only emerged decades after her death. Through drama and characterization, Ada will bring computing to life and encourage and empower your children to get involved in coding and STEM subjects.

If you’ve booked and enjoyed our Florence Nightingale session you are sure to fall in love with this new Ada Lovelace workshop. Or book this session as part of a wider Victorian topic.

Times Tables Rock Stars - Maths Assembly

This interactive and engaging session is a half hour assembly that is the perfect way to kickstart the Times Tables Rock Stars programme in your school.

One facilitator visits your school in role as a Rock Scout on the hunt for Times Tables Talent! Using a host of drama games and activities, this lively and fast-paced assembly-style session is designed to launch the Times Tables Rock Stars programme in your school, enthusing and energising your budding maths rock stars!

Accompanied by classic rock anthems, children will be encouraged to participate in games and crowd-raising activities including ‘Rock Against The Clock’, getting quizzical with Times Tables in Everyday Life, and competing in an ultimate Battle of the Bands.

These sessions are currently available in London. If you are outside Greater London please call to enquire in any case and we will let you know any extra travel costs that may apply.

Our Partner

Our Maths Assembly session is produced in partnership with Times Tables Rock Stars who offer an exciting programme to learn times tables: integrating technology, music and superstar status in order to grasp the power of maths!

This launch assembly goes perfectly with their learning programme and is not a stand-alone Freshwater Session. Go to their website to find out more about joining in the rock!
