Drama Game – Chatter

06 Dec 2022

Give children the opportunity and confidence to improvise speech without the pressure of others listening.

How It Works:

Tell children to sit in two lines facing each other. Tell them to start talking to themselves at the same time. Each child should improvise both sides of the dialogue between two characters with contrasting tones and moods.

The child opposite each child is their partner. Have the pairs describe to each other the conversations they made up. Together they should pick the best parts from both of their scenes to make a new scene. Allow them to rehearse for about 20 minutes. Invite pairs to perform their scenes in front of other groups.
