Summer Reading Challenge

Designed for 6-11 year olds, one facilitator visits your venue. There will be a few props and visual aids but the main focus is on the children exploring the topic interactively through drama and storytelling.
Here at Freshwater, we love nothing more than getting into a good book over the holidays, but we know that children’s reading skills can sometimes ‘dip’ over the summer break as they find it harder to engage. Research shows that taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge by The Reading Agency, can help maintain key literacy skills over the holidays.
Every year we create a brand new drama and storytelling workshop to support the Summer Reading Challenge, exciting and enthusing children about the challenge theme.
