VE Day Assembly
The 8th May marks 80 years since VE Day and we'd be delighted to help you commemorate this landmark anniversary in your school.
Your pupils will be greeted by Thorgil (or Olga) the Viking, who will take them on a hammer-hurling historical voyage!
The class will travel from Denmark to England in a Viking ship (queue lots of heave-hoing!) before exploring different aspects of Viking life. They will help to build Longhouse, take part in an important community meeting called ‘The Thing’ and have their fortunes told with runes.
The session finishes with the pupils taking part in a gripping retelling of the story of Thor’s Hammer.
The children were fully engaged throughout the whole session. The facilitator had excellent behaviour management so all children enjoyed the workshop.
