We are currently recruiting for a full time General Manager:
Freshwater Theatre Company is seeking an exceptionally organised, diligent and reliable full-time General Manager to join our busy team based in East London. The talented individual should be passionate about working within arts and education.
The post holder will manage the administrative staff and pool of 60+ freelance drama facilitators who deliver our workshops in schools, be responsible for the smooth running of the Freshwater office and oversee a range of administrative, marketing and financial tasks.
They will have proven arts administration and management experience and will thrive in a high pressure, hard-working and fast-paced work environment. They will be good at working on their own initiative and being self-motivated, as well as being able to manage and motivate a small, tight-knit team and delegate tasks efficiently.
Freshwater is looking for an experienced manager, excellent communicator and creative strategic thinker, who can work collaboratively across the company and with associates.
This post will report to and be under the direction of the Company Directors.
The successful applicant will be looking to develop a long-term future with Freshwater.
Freshwater Theatre Company was established in 1996 and is now one of the most respected and renowned drama-in-education companies in the UK. Delivering drama-based workshops to support most areas of the primary curriculum, the company works with over 150,000 children each year, providing creative and enriching learning opportunities. The company occasionally delivers drama workshops to KS3 students and in non-school venues.
Following a post-Covid period during which the administrative, technical and marketing structures were strengthened, Freshwater now intends to seek out new business opportunities and develop and diversify into new areas.
This post is 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks).
Salary: £35,000 per annum

You must be available for a first-round telephone interview on Tuesday 12th March and then for an interview in person on Friday 22nd March at our offices in Bethnal Green, East London. The start date will be subject to the successful candidate’s notice period.
