VE Day Assembly
The 8th May marks 80 years since VE Day and we'd be delighted to help you commemorate this landmark anniversary in your school.
Raise a goblet of mead and join us for this KS2 Anglo Saxons workshop!
Guided by Ethelind or Kenric, an Anglo Saxon farm dweller, your pupils will first explore daily life in a settlement, learn about Anglo Saxon beliefs and culture, and then have their fortunes told using runes.
The workshop ends with a dramatic re-enactment of Beowulf, where pupils take on roles to bring the legendary tale to life.
With storytelling, role-play, and hands-on activities, this KS2 workshop is an engaging way to explore this fascinating period in history.

The children really engaged with the workshop and enjoyed exploring the historical context of Beowulf as well as just re-enacting the story. They were already familiar with the text but the opportunity for them to act out parts of the story really helped them understand the chronology of the plot and bring the story to life.
