EYFS and KS1 Geography workshop

The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark

Subject: Literacy/Storytelling

Age Group: KS1

Region: London/Greater London

In this KS1 Literature workshop, you will discover that the dark can be KIND, FASCINATING, and FUN, as you help bring the tale of ‘Plop the Owl’ to life. There is no need to be afraid!

First, use your imagination to conjure up the sights, smells, and sounds of the forest. Then, adventure into Bluebell Wood to explore life amongst the trees. You will then learn all about barn owls, and explore light and dark, nocturnal and diurnal, predators and prey.

Finally, bring to life the well-loved tale of The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson.

With a kit bag of colourful props, our storytelling facilitator will guide you through this KS1 Literature workshop for Reception and KS1. This interactive drama workshop will provide ample opportunity for you to be expressive with your movement and to share what you know about the woodland and creatures that live there.

Can you help ‘Plop’ the baby barn owl overcome his fear of the dark?
