Written by French novelist and poet Victor Hugo, Les Misérables was first published in 1862. Since then, it has been made into a film, stage musical, and now, a Freshwater drama workshop!

Our specialist language facilitator will visit in role as narrator and as the relentless ‘Inspector Javert’. All the other characters will be played by you! You will have the opportunity to develop speaking and listening skills, as French and English are woven seamlessly together.
First, follow the journey of Jean Valjean: from imprisoned bread thief to respected mayor, devoted father, and hunted fugitive. Then, take part in daring escapes and revolutionary uprisings. Finally, grapple with the question at the heart of Hugo’s masterpiece: can a person truly change?
