Don Quijote
Meet the famous Don Quijote de la Mancha and the ever-faithful Sancho Panza as he tries to keep his master out of danger
Journey back in time to the turbulent and riotous streets of Paris. Les gardes du Cardinal are pitted against Les Mousquetaires du Roi. The threat of violence hangs in the air, fights break out on every corner and impassioned mottos ring out:
“Vive le Cardinal!”
“Tous pour un, un pour tous!”
D’Artagnan, a brave and impetuous man from the countryside, longs to travel to Paris and join the famed and revered Musketeers. But with the odds stacked against him and obstacles facing him at every turn, will D’Artagnan ever achieve his dream?
Our specialist language facilitator leads the session, both as the narrator and in character as the valiant swordsman D’Artagnan. All the other characters are played by the students themselves, giving them the ideal chance to improve their speaking and listening skills, whilst firing their imaginations as they recreate the novel’s dramatic opening – and learn how three musketeers became four.
In this fast-paced workshop, French and English are woven seamlessly together to ensure that your students follow the action and are fully engaged throughout.
These workshop are perfect to support year-round learning as well as the following important events in your year planner
All the students found it an uplifting experience and thoroughly enjoyed taking part. Keeping 12/13 year olds focussed for an hour can be tricky, but the performance was gripping, the leaders were highly entertaining and had all the students waiting in anticipation for the next part of the story.
