VE Day Assembly
The 8th May marks 80 years since VE Day and we'd be delighted to help you commemorate this landmark anniversary in your school.
Step back in time and discover what life was like for children during the Second World War in this engaging KS2 WW2 workshop.
Pupils will work alongside our ‘wartime news reporter’ to investigate the experiences of ordinary people living on the Home Front. They will take part in an air raid drill, learn how gas masks were worn, respond to wartime safety commands, and follow in the footsteps of an evacuee.
Through interactive drama activities and games, pupils will explore this fascinating period of British history in an active and memorable way. They will respond to historical source material and create freeze-frames inspired by real events. Along the way, they will develop a deeper understanding of how the war affected everyday lives.
This KS2 WW2 workshop provides an engaging, sensitive and age-appropriate introduction to one of the most significant periods in modern history.

Better than I could have imagined. We had different ages and different levels of ‘outgoing-ness’ with children, and all of them ended up being super engaged and loving it.
