VE Day Assembly
The 8th May marks 80 years since VE Day and we'd be delighted to help you commemorate this landmark anniversary in your school.
Lower the drawbridge, cross the moat, and pull up the portcullis: it’s our Kings, Queens, and Castles KS1 History workshop!
Join our Knight of Knowledge on this quizzical quest to experience life inside a medieval castle: explore the gatehouse, battlements, and halls; become the significant individuals of the past who lived and worked in the castles; and encounter a few famous kings and queens.
Do you dare to discover the dungeons?
Will you join in the Jousting Tournament?
Are you fearless enough to feed on swan at the Feast?
We know you are, Squires!
From the ‘Legend of the Ogre’ to the Legend of King Arthur, this KS1 History workshop will have you reciting regal rhymes and resolving castle-based riddles using Facilitator-led drama techniques.
And finally, you will graduate from Squires to Knights of Knowledge in our noble order.

The children were engaged right from the start and loved the interaction of the whole session. They couldn’t stop talking about it afterwards! Great way to hook the kids in and get them enthusiastic about the subject they are getting ready to learn.
